Spurs will net a decent fee for Oliver Skipp

On the eve of Tottenham’s opening day clash against Leicester, the two clubs have seemingly struck a transfer agreement, with Skipp set to swap the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the King Power Stadium.

The 23-year-old, who was contracted to Spurs until 2027, is now expected to have a medical with the newly promoted club later today before the transfer is officially confirmed.

Skipp, who came through the youth ranks at Tottenham and made his debut for the North London side back in 2018, has made a total of 77 appearances for his boyhood club.

The midfielder was reduced to a bit-part role under Ange Postecoglou last season, primarily being used as an impact substitute off the bench.

£20m for Skipp is good business for Spurs

Skipp is now expected to partner Spurs teammate, Harry Winks, in midfield at Leicester, with the England international making the move to the Midlands last summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

Skipp has understandably decided to leave in search of regular game time and Tottenham have done well to get a decent fee for the midfielder.

It is likely that the agreement was reached a while ago but Spurs waited until today to finalise the transfer in order to ensure the 23-year-old does not come up against them in Monday’s game.
