Report: Tottenham linked with potential £27.2m offer for South American
The exit of Emerson Royal has raised questions over Tottenham’s right-back situation with a report suggesting tht Spurs are readying a bid for Monaco defender, Vanderson.
Emerson Royal joined AC Milan earlier this week
It was long reported that Brazilian right-back Emerson Royal was of interest to AC Milan this summer with Fabrizio Romano first revealing the Italian’s side interest back in May with the move finally going through earlier this week.
The Daily Mail announced that Emerson’s switch to AC Milan was worth £15million leaving Spurs fans pondering whether a replacement would be purchased with the funds received.
Bruno Andrade claimed that Vanderson was of interest to Spurs following Emerson’s departure, although Alasdair Gold later shut down rumours stating that Djed Spence was set to stay at the club to provide competition for the right-back berth for the upcoming season.

Despite Alasdair Gold’s contrary reports, Bruno Andrade has restated that Spurs are in talks for the 23-year-old Brazilian defender.
Talks are reported to be ongoing between Tottenham and Vanderson’s club, Monaco, with the English side preparing an opening bid of €32million (£27.2million) plus add-ons.
The rumoured offer is short of the €40million (£34million) figure that Bruno Andrade initially claimed Monaco were expecting amid Spurs’ interest.

Although the idea of another signing is tempting, it may not be the best move for Tottenham here.
Spurs have a player in their ranks with plenty of ability in the form of Djed Spence and could extract some great performances out of the right-back this season, just as his pre-season has promised.
Therefore, there are other positions which are more in need of immediate investment this summer rather than right-back.
