To be fair he isnt that amazing, the board are probably thinking, in the next few years when he is good enough to get in the first team,we will be in a position to buy who ever we want, so let's tick the FFP box and move on.

I think the FFP point is key. Selling James and Donovan gives us an awful lot of wiggle room on FFP next summer if things go well in the current season.
