City of Ville Platte secures $500,000 Louisiana Community Development Block Grant to remove blighted structures

VILLE PLATTE, La. (KLFY) -- Ville Platte has been awarded a $500,000 grant that was approved by Governor Jeff Landry to clean up the city.

The Louisiana Community Development Block Grant program is allocating the funds to the city of Ville Platte. The funding will be used to remove blighted structures throughout the city to revitalize the community and improve the quality of life of residents.

The grant was secured with the help of La Louisianne Consulting who worked closely with city officials to complete the necessary requirements to get approval for the funding. La Louisianne Consulting sees this as a "major investment in the future of Ville Platte."

Ville Platte Mayor Ryan Williams said he is grateful for the assistance and support.

"This grant is a tremendous win for our community," Williams said. "Removing these blighted structures will help us create a safer, more vibrant Ville Platte, and I want to thank the Office of Community Development and La Louisianne Consulting for their unwavering support throughout this process."

He also extended his appreciation to the dedicated staff at City Hall and the City Council, whose hard work and commitment were instrumental in securing this funding.
