Jamestown police investigating 3 separate shooting incidents

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- The Jamestown Police Department is investigating three separate shooting incidents that occurred in recent days.

Officials said in the early morning hours of Friday, a victim had a confrontation with another individual after leaving a downtown establishment. The victim was transported to an out-of-town hospital with life-threatening injuries. No additional details were provided.

In a separate incident on the same day, police responded to the 800 block of Prendergast Avenue for a report of a victim who was shot with minor injuries, according to officials. The victim was treated and released with non-life-threatening injuries.

A third incident occurred around 1 a.m. Saturday, when police responded to Victoria Avenue for another report of a gunshot victim. The victim suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to an out-of-town hospital for further treatment.

An investigation into Saturday's shooting found that 33-year-old Juan Tufino Jr. of Jamestown was allegedly in possession of a loaded pistol, officials said. He was placed under arrest and was transported to the Jamestown City Jail where he is being held on third-degree criminal possession of a weapon pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.

The investigations into all three incidents are ongoing and the victims' names will be released at a later time. Police said all incidents are believed to be targeted, where the offenders knew the victims.
