A’s vs. Giants game thread

The Last One

The time is nigh. The OAKLAND Athletics take on the San Francisco Giants, one last time. Let’s go out on top, shall we?

The A’s will send out reliable lefty JP Sears for the start in today’s game. This season has had a bit more bumps in the road for the lefty in his second season but he’s battled through every down point and is now on a roll. Over his past seven starts he’s posted a very nice 2.91 ERA while keeping those pesky walks down. We’ll be hoping he can use the expected sellout crowd energy today to keep that train rolling.

Here is how the OAKLAND A’s lineup will look today:

San Francisco will counter Sears with their own lefty in Blake Snell. Last year’s Cy Young winner, Snell got off to a slow start for his new club but has been on an other worldly tear recently, even tossing a no-hitter just a few starts ago. His most recent outing saw him go six-plus without allowing one run. The OAKLAND bats might have some trouble today so best to make your chances count.

The San Francisco lineup:

Lest we forget, this is also the final time that fans will see Bob Melvin, Mark Canha, and Matt Chapman at the Coliseum. Though they’re wearing the other team’s jersey it’s still just a game. These guys bled for us and gave it their all while with us. Let’s give them one final cheer before the curtain drops. Those three deserve it.

Let’s go OAKLAND A’s! Finish the sweep and let’s wrap this rivalry up with a win.
