Trump to Chinese President: Enjoy the facilities we built at Bagram, Afghanistan

Donald Trump, the Republican candidate in the U.S. presidential election, has once again claimed that Bagram Airfield is now “under Chinese control.”

Trump, speaking indirectly to President Xi Jinping, remarked, “Enjoy the use of the billions of dollars we invested in infrastructure years ago.”

In a speech on Saturday in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, the former U.S. President criticized the Biden-Harris administration for leaving behind billions of dollars worth of U.S. military equipment in Afghanistan during what he described as “the most shameful moment in American history.”

Trump noted that during the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, 13 American soldiers were killed, many were taken hostage, and several were left behind.

He emphasized that the U.S. should have exited Afghanistan with “strength and dignity.”

Trump stated that he also planned to withdraw U.S. forces from Afghanistan but intended to do so “earlier, more powerfully, and with dignity.” He also mentioned his intention to “retain” Bagram Airfield.

According to Trump, Bagram is now “occupied” by China and is only an hour away from where China produces nuclear weapons.

The former President has repeatedly criticized his Democratic opponents for the chaotic U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, previously asserting that China controls Bagram Airfield.

Meanwhile, recent polls indicate that Kamala Harris is currently leading Donald Trump by 4 per cent in the race for the 2024 presidential election. This margin reflects a significant shift in the political landscape as the election approaches, with Harris gaining momentum in key battleground states.

As the November presidential election draws closer, both candidates intensify their campaigns. Trump continues to focus on foreign policy issues and critiques of the Biden administration, while Harris emphasizes her administration’s achievements and plans for the country.

The upcoming election is expected to be highly competitive, with both parties mobilizing their base and seeking to sway undecided voters. The outcome will likely hinge on key issues such as the economy, national security, and handling international relations.
