Britain’s Got Talent reveals auditions will begin NEXT MONTH after schedule shake-up put Bruno Tonioli’s job in jeopardy
BRITAIN’S Got Talent have revealed that show auditions will begin as soon as NEXT MONTH after a huge schedule shake-up.
Producers of the ITV talent contest will be holding open auditions in mid-September in a bid to find the next wave of UK talent.
It comes just three months after the last series ended and crowned singer Sydnie Christmas the champion thanks to her breaktaking vocals.
Now, revealing they are on the hunt once again, a call-out to potential acts read: “OPEN AUDITIONS ARE COMING TO LONDON!
“Whether you’re a singer, dancer or a magician, everyone is welcome at the #BGT Open Auditions.
“So come along and show us your talent at the Kia Oval in London on the 14th & 15th September.”
The auditions are believed to have been brought forward this year as part of a planned shake-up with the programme’s scheduling.
In a big move, ITV are planning to air BGT for at least THREE months from early next year.
Whilst the judges normally film audition dates in January and Februaury ready for the show to kick off in April, it is understood that bosses are hoping to film the next series’ auditions before the year is out in order to get them on the air from early February.
A big gap has been left in ITV’s Saturday night output following the end of Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway with an extended run of BGT set to replace it.
However, this news has caused concern that the show’s newest judge, former Strictly Come Dancing star Bruno Tonioli may be forced to miss out due to scheduling conflicts.
ITV are now considering taking advantage of the fact Bruno, 68, will struggle to be part of the rescheduled auditions in October as they clash with his US Dancing With The Stars stint, in a bid to freshen up the panel.
An ITV insider said: “Nobody else has been agreed upon or approached as a replacement, currently the question is just — do we keep Bruno at all?
“There is much discussion going on.
“It’s nothing sinister, but maybe a change would be better.
“But Simon Cowell might insist he stays.”
The Sun exclusively revealed the filming clash facing the former Strictly Come Dancing judge earlier this month.
Bruno’s future on the show could become a major bone of contention as ITV thrash out the conditions of a £100million deal between the channel and the show’s producers, Thames.
Cowell, 64, insisted he wanted to keep his old pal in the job Bruno took in 2023 following the departure of David Walliams.
