Scott: We Looked Comfortable Throughout
Hibs Women Head Coach Grant Scott was "really happy" with his side's victory over Aberdeen on Sunday (18 August).
Tegan Bowie, Kathleen McGovern and Eilidh Adams all snagged braces, while Stacey Papadopoulos scored her first Hibs goal, in a 7-0 rout of the Dons.
Following Hibs' first home league match of the new season, Scott expressed to Hibs TV how pleased he was with his team's all-round performance.
"I think it was a good performance today," he said. "I thought it was much improved in the second half. We moved the ball much better and much quicker, stuff we had asked them to do at half-time.
"We have had to be patient today to get the absolute reward of all the goals. But we looked comfortable from start to finish today.
"We want to play attractive football. Credit to the players, sometimes it’s easy to take your foot off the gas but they didn’t do that today. That’s pleasing.
"It’s always disruptive to change your shape and make substitutions, but the girls who came on maintained the levels. There was no dip. Credit to the full group."
On Papadopoulos' excellent strike from a well-worked set-piece routine, Scott admitted his own pleasure at seeing a training ground plan pull off on the pitch.
"It’s great for the squad. It’s a nice one from Stacey. We’ve worked on that one.
"We thought we saw an opportunity with that one during the week, those are always rewarding to us as coaches. The players executed it perfectly."
There is a quick turnaround for Scott and his squad, as Hibs host Dundee United at Meadowbank on Wednesday (21 August), and The Gaffer has stressed the importance of rotation.
"It’s a squad game. There are over 30 games we’ll be involved in this season depending on cup runs. Every player in the squad is going to have their moment. It’s not always today, it’s another day.
"We were careful with substitutions today because of the midweek fixture, making sure we rested legs that are going to be key for us going forward.
"The pleasing thing for me is that the squad is looking very strong and when we make those changes now, there is no dip in our performance."
