David Brooks on Emotions and Decision Making (REVIEW ESSAY)

The self-styled conservative columnist David Brooks published a thought-provoking column titled "You're Only as Smart as Your Emotions" (dated August 15, 2024) in the New York Times. It is related, in part, to the theme of decision making in my OEN article "Barton T. Geger, S.J., and 'Jesuitmania'" (dated August 13, 2024), as I explain in the present essay.
