Meet Akkasaheb: India's first Lenswoman and pioneer in sports photography

Laxmibai Mujumdar, known as Akkasaheb, was a pioneering figure in Indian sports photography, beginning her career in 1915. She contributed extensively to sports journalism through her magazine 'Vyayam' and captured over 15,000 photographs. Akkasaheb's work was featured in the 'Vyayamkosh,' an encyclopedia on global sports written by her husband in the 1930s.
