Suspect arrested in connection with Schenectady stabbing

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Schenectady Police Department is investigating a fight where someone was stabbed at the 200 block of South Brandywine Avenue. The suspect, Mark Jeffress, 27, of Schenectady, is in custody and is charged with first-degree assault.

Police responded to the area on Sunday morning just after 1 a.m. for reports of a fight and upon arrival, they say they found a man with a stab wound to his chest. The victim's injuries were serious but he was transported to Albany Medical Center and is believed to be in stable condition. The suspect was held for arraignment.
