Report: Roma enter the race to sign wantaway Tottenham player this month

According to El Chiringuito TV, AS Roma have now entered the race to sign Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Celso before the transfer deadline.

Lo Celso is likely to leave Tottenham

Lo Celso’s days at Tottenham now appear numbered, with the midfielder now into the final year of his contract at the North London side.

It has been widely reported that he is expected to leave before the end of the month, with Aston Villa and Real Betis thought to be keen on securing his signature (Fabrizio Romano).

Last week, Football Insider explained that Spurs had informed the player that he is free to find a new club, with the Lilywhites alleged to be desperate to offload him before the window shuts.

It was explained that while Tottenham had previously demanded £15m for Lo Celso, they were now willing to sell him for just £10m.

Roma enter the race for Giovani Lo Celso

El Chiringuito TV have now claimed that Roma are the latest side to explore a move for Lo Celso, with the Serie A side identifying the Tottenham man as a replacement for Paulo Dybala.

The report states that if the Giallorossi manage to offload the former Juventus forward, they will make a move for the 28-year-old.

Finally, the publication adds that both Betis and Villa remain on Lo Celso’s trail as we head into the dying stages of the transfer window.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham would hope that a bidding war gets going so that they can get a decent fee for Lo Celso.

However, the midfielder will ultimately have a big say on where he ends up as he is in a powerful position, with his contract running down.
