Jake Paul Had Interesting Excuse After Getting Booed at Mike Tyson Presser
Jake Paul had a unique excuse after he was viciously booed during a Netflix presser for his upcoming boxing match with Mike Tyson.
Tyson entered the stage at New York's Javits Center to emphatic chants of “Tyson! Tyson! Tyson!” by the eager crowd, and he sat at the media table soaking up their cheers and juicing them for further applause.
When Tyson was asked by moderator and First Take co-host Ryan Clarke how prepared he is to deliver a knockout to Paul, Tyson bragged, “I’m very prepared.” When Paul was asked what would “possess” him to “fight the most vicious man in the world,” the grooming-product entrepreneur earnestly responded, “Making history, this is what it’s all about for me. I’m a kid from Ohio—” before the crowd began to boo enthusiastically.
Paul immediately stood from his seat, turning to the audience and returning their manic energy. “Hey, New York, shut the f--k up, New York,” he spat into the mic. “Hey, boo yourselves! Boo yourselves,” he said.
Paul continued while throwing shots at his opponent. “Hey New York, New York, New York,” he spluttered, “you’re just like Mike Tyson! You were good 20 years ago.”
As the sounds of crowd dissatisfaction increased, Paul hit them with his killer punchline: “F--k you, New York. F--k you,” he screamed while displaying a middle finger. “Dumbass democratic city.”
With that, Paul politely set his mic on the table and proceeded to chew his gum furiously, rather ironically resembling an angry New Yorker himself. Paul has been a vocal supporter of former President Donald Trump, while NYC is a famous Democratic stronghold, although the political leanings of the crowd itself—or whether they had anything to do with the lack of support—were speculative.

“You were used to being the most hated guy walking into a ring. What’s it like fighting someone who’s hated more than you are?” Clarke asked as the crowd shouted, “We love you, Mike!”
“I’m just ready,” Tyson responded simply. “I’m gonna do my talk, I’m gonna talk my s--t. But I’m ready to fight.”
At the end of the press conference, the stage was cleared for a face-off between Paul and Tyson which quickly devolved into a bizarre shoving match between the two opponents. Tyson first pushed Paul before a referee intervends and brought them together so that the media could snap photos. Once the pictures were taken, Paul gave Tyson a hard shove and the veteran boxer put his hands in the air to show he was joking.
