Sam Heughan & Caitriona Balfe Seen on Set of 'Outlander' Season 8 for First Time

Filming for the final season of Outlander has officially begun!

Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe braved the rainy weather as they arrived on set to begin filming scenes for the upcoming eighth and final season of their Starz series on Monday (August 19) in Eglington, Scotland.

For their time on set, Sam, 44, was seen sporting his character Jamie Fraser’s signature, long blonde hair while Caitriona, also 44, wore a graying wig as she got in character as Claire Fraser.

Keep reading to find out more…Joining Sam and Caitriona on set were their co-stars David Berry, Charles Vandervaart, and Carla Woodcock, who were all seen wearing period costume.

Just last week, Sam and Caitriona shared photos from the final table read as they prepared to begin filming.

Part two of season seven of Outlander is scheduled to premiere on Nov. 22 and as of right now, the release date for the eighth and final season hasn’t been revealed yet. However, it has been announced that several stars will be joining the cast for the last season.

It has also been announced that a prequel series is in the works!
