Music legend leaves eye-watering sum to wife in will in after sudden death from meningitis
ROCK great Jeff Beck left a fortune of almost £28million in his will, documents have revealed.
The Hi Ho Silver Lining star, who had no children, left his sizeable estate entirely to his second wife Sandra Cash.
They had been married since 2005.
Beck died in hospital in January 2023 at the age of 78, shortly after contracting bacterial meningitis.
His probate was granted by the High Court this month.
It is made up of the guitarist’s savings, property and royalty rights.
Beck shot to fame in the 1960s with The Yardbirds.
He later formed The Jeff Beck Group, creating an alliance of rock royalty boasting Rod Stewart, Ronnie Wood and Cozy Powell.
He carved out a career as a solo performer and was christened the “guitarist’s guitarist” by Black Sabbath ace Tony Iommi.
He would also collaborate with Eric Clapton and Mick Jagger during a 50-year career.
He spent 2022 on a final tour of the UK alongside friend and Hollywood actor Johnny Depp.
Asked about his musical style, Beck once recalled: “I don’t care about the rules. If I don’t break the rules at least 10 times in every song, then I’m not doing my job properly.”
The strummer was twice inducted into the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, in 1992 and 2009.
After his death, Sir Rod hailed his pal as “on another planet”, adding: “You were the greatest, my man.”
