One injured, teen arrested after stabbing in Beacon

BEACON, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Beacon Police reported the arrest of a 16-year-old on Saturday following an assault investigation. The minor, whose name will not be released due to their age, is facing multiple charges.

On August 17, police responded to a residence on Eliza Street in Beacon for the report of someone being stabbed. Arriving officers located two 16-year-olds, one of whom was bleeding from a stab wound to the leg.

Further investigation revealed that the two were in a relationship and that one of the teens had allegedly stabbed the other during a physical altercation. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for their injuries.

Police subdued and took the suspected aggressor into custody after the youth reportedly resisted arrest and struck an officer in the face. The teen now faces the following charges:

  • Two counts of second-degree assault
  • Resisting arrest
  • Fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon

The teen was transported to a secure facility after being arraigned. The incident remains under investigation.
