Man Utd have just agreed to sell 6ft 1in academy talent, he was part of pre-season - report

Manchester United have spent big money during the summer transfer window and they could continue their spree before the transfer deadline this month.

The Red Devils are interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte and there is optimism that they can strike a deal by August 30.

The club are also likely to recoup funds from player sales and Manchester Evening News claim that Will Fish is expected to join Cardiff City in the coming days.

The 21-year-old centre-back spent the previous campaign on loan with Hibernian where he made 45 appearances.

He suffered an unfortunate injury against Liverpool in pre-season this summer, but he has managed to recover in time to secure a move to the Bluebirds.

United have made right decision on Fish

Fish made his first-team debut for United at the age of 17 under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. He has since failed to make another competitive appearance.

The 6ft 1in youngster has been part of pre-season preparation in recent years, but he still has to develop his game to become a Premier League-based player.

United’s hierarchy have made the right decision to sell him to Cardiff. Fish should be guaranteed regular playing time in the Championship to make steady progress.

Hopefully, the Red Devils can gain from the same in future. We are quite sure that the club will include a significant sell-on clause and a possible buy-back option.

Fish would not have benefitted from staying at United with the competition from Lisandro Martinez, Matthijs de Ligt, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans.
