After a terrific start to Sunday’s game against the Miami Marlins, Brandon Nimmo was forced to leave the game with what appears to be a right shoulder injury.

In the seventh inning, Nimmo swung at a pitch from left-handed Marlins reliever Andrew Nardi and immediately began to favor that shoulder. Nimmo was able to finish the at-bat, but struck out swinging. The two other swings he had in the at-bat looked pretty normal.

Nimmo finished the day 1-for-3 with what was the go-ahead home run, until the Marlins tied it. He also walked in the game and had a terrific grab in left field that kept the game tied in the seventh. The batted ball on the diving grab had an expected batting average of .860.

The Mets announced Nimmo left with right shoulder discomfort.
