‘Wide off the mark’ – Alasdair Gold says Spurs are not plotting move for defender

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has once again reiterated that there is still no truth to suggestions that Tottenham Hotspur are plotting a move for Vanderson.

Tottenham were linked heavily with Vanderson

UOL Esporte journalist Bruno Andrade reported at the start of last week that Spurs had opened talks with Monaco over a summer deal for Vanderson.

The journalist claimed that the Lilywhites have identified the 24-year-old as a potential replacement for Emerson Royal, adding that the Ligue 1 club are now expecting an offer to arrive from Spurs.

This was immediately rubbished by Gold (Football.London), but GiveMeSport suggested a few days ago that even though Spurs are playing down talks of a move to Vanderson, the North London club are indeed eyeing a move for the Brazilian.

The outlet suggested that Ange Postecoglou is not completely convinced about Djed Spence and that the Monaco star could be brought in to cover for Pedro Porro at right-back.

Vanderson links are wide of the mark

However, this has now been vehemently denied by Gold, who revealed in his latest column that the rumours of Tottenham’s interest in Vanderson remain ‘wide off the mark’.

The journalist added that Spence is going to remain at Spurs and is seen as a valuable squad option by Postecoglou.

Following Ange’s latest comments on Spence, it is clear that the former Middlesbrough man will remain at the club.

It is thus quite evident that Gold is right and that the Vanderson rumour does not have any legs.
