Redditor Egriff78 explained her sister-in-law’s method in a comment on the social media platform.

She said that her sister-in-law has a unique routine to look her best.

“My sister-in-law is in her mid-50s and she has one of the best bodies I’ve ever seen hands down,” she said.

SECRET SAUCE

Her sister-in-law’s recipe for success starts in the kitchen.

“She is very strict with her diet,” she said.

“She lifts heavy in the gym and has monthly blood tests to ascertain her vitamin [and] hormone levels.

“She also doesn’t have children or a partner, so dedicates a ton of time to her diet, workouts, lifestyle, [and] trainer who supports her.”

The Cleveland Clinic recommends getting hormones checked for a variety of conditions, including menopause.

Abnormal fluctuations in hormones can cause issues like weight gain.

A vitamin deficiency test may also prevent or explain uncomfortable symptoms.

“It gets harder as you get older in every way, even if you’re genetically blessed due to family, kids, responsibilities, hormonal/metabolic changes, time constraints,” the Redditor added.

“I imagine [it’s] even tougher when you go into menopause.”

She said that although it’s complicated to keep up with diet, exercise, and doctor visits, it’s essential to stay ahead of the curve.

According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) physical activity is crucial as we age.

The CDC recommends 150 minutes of exercise weekly for adults, which averages out to 30-minute sessions five times per week.

They also say that two of those workouts should involve “muscle strengthening,” such as weight training.

The Redditor also revealed her own routine for optimal health.

She said she is in her early 40s and swears that weight lifting and a diet consisting of high protein, fats in moderation, and low carbohydrates along with intermittent fasting works for her.

“I’m in the best shape of my life right now, but it’s ‘work,'” she said.

“I do invest as much time and effort as I can because I want to be healthy and strong as I age [and] not to mention, look good.”
