I am a lazy, lazy woman so my hair routine is simple – the ends were crispy & gross but I fixed them with drugstore buys

Reddit user ManyLintRollers doesn’t want to have to spend too much time on her hair.

“I am a lazy, lazy woman; so my routine is simple,” she wrote in a post.

The 55-year-old shared how she grew her locks out and repaired her damaged ends from years of heat styling and coloring her hair.

COLOR CHAOS

For years, she constantly dyed her natural red hair to conceal the pesky grays popping through.

In 2021, she said she decided to stop coloring and just let it “be gray.”

“Now it’s a mix of dark blonde and white. It looks white in some lights, blonde in others,” she added.

It took her about two years to grow out her natural color that she said she now loves.

The Reddit user described her hair as 1C with “fine, textured strands” that looked like “a frizzy dry disaster.”

“I’ve had shoulder length or shorter for most of my life. My hair was so fine and easily damaged that the ends would be all crispy and gross by the time they got past my shoulders,” she said.

Previously, she kept it collarbone length and trimmed off the dyed ends, but “once it was 100% virgin hair,” she decided to “grow it long.”

“I’ve always wanted waist-length hair so now I’m going for it!” she gushed.

She admitted that she knew heat styling and coloring were the problem.

Now, she maintains her texture with a simple and easy-to-follow routine.

PRIME PICKS

Three products in her beauty arsenal get the job done.

First, she uses L’Oréal Elvive Dream Lengths Restoring Shampoo and Super Detangling Conditioner, $19.98 on Amazon.

The Reddit user said she does this twice a week.

Then, she applies L’Oréal Elvive No More Haircuts Leave-in Conditioner, $8.99, from the ears down.

Lastly, she doesn’t do any heat styling and lets her hair air dry.

NIGHTTIME ROUTINE

“If my ends feel dry, I put a bit of coconut oil on them at night,” she added.

She detangles with a wooden wide-tooth comb and brushes with a boar bristle to distribute the oils.

Although it is a common practice to sleep with silk or satin pillowcases, the Reddit user said she doesn’t because they make her feel sweaty.

Instead, she puts her hair in loose braids or a loose bun at night to protect it from tangling.

She added that she gets plenty of protein in her diet and eats mostly unprocessed foods.
