Hurley Coming Home To Cameron This Fall? Could Be

It’s not official yet but what a moment if it happens

Well this will be pretty cool, assuming it all works out: Duke and Arizona State are negotiating for an exhibition game on October 25th that will be a homecoming and way to honor Duke legend and ASU coach Bobby Hurley, according to CBS’s Matt Norlander.

Still the NCAA record holder for assists, Hurley’s post-Duke path hasn’t always been easy. He had a devastating car accident in his rookie season with Sacramento that ultimately cut his pro career short and it took him a while to get into the family business.

He had a terrific two-year run at Buffalo before leaving for Arizona State in 2015. ASU is one of the tougher jobs in a power conference and they traditionally struggle, particularly in comparison with arch rival Arizona.

Hurley has had some real moments there though and he got an extension through 2026 partly due to ASU’s move to the Big 12 which is brutally competitive.

None of that stuff will matter to Duke fans who adore Hurley and will love seeing him back in Cameron.
