Taylor Swift recording no-holds-barred Eras Tour documentary covering the reality of heartbreak on the road

WE can reveal that Taylor Swift is working on a documentary that will tell the story of her record-breaking Eras Tour.

I’ve been told that as well as charting how the mammoth 149 shows were created, it will see her talk about the reality of life on the road as she navigates the status of being a cultural phenomenon.

And it sounds like the superstar will not shy away from the recent events that have rocked her world.

The film will touch on the Southport knife attack at a Taylor-themed kids’ summer club and the foiled terror plot which saw her forced to cancel three shows in Vienna, Austria.

A music insider said: “Taylor has been quietly filming behind the scenes of the Eras Tour since last year.

“It will be a warts—and—all insight into the tour and the mechanics behind it, which will be fascinating for fans.

“The documentary will also reference Southport and Vienna.

“It will be powerful and emotional, as well as an uplifting celebration of Taylor and her incredible fans.”

Insiders said the film will also cover the creation of Taylor’s 11th album The Tortured Poets Department, which went straight to No1 on it’s release in April.

The collection came out following her shock split from British actor Joe Alwyn, and her rebound romance with The 1975 frontman Matty Healy. Both Brits took a pasting on the record.

Taylor is now smitten with her latest man, NFL player Travis Kelce — who joined her on stage in a surprise cameo at Wembley in June. He will be seen on screen.

Well-earned rest

Her previous documentary, Miss Americana, saw Taylor lift the curtain on the reality of being one of the world’s biggest superstars.

Released on Netflix in 2020, it was a smash hit.

Filming for the new one has been taking place at Taylor’s Wembley shows over the past few days.

She wrapped her final concert of the British leg last night with the last of her eight London dates.

It means more than 700,000 of Taylor’s fans have watched her perform at the famous stadium in the past couple of months.

A number of the UK shows were filmed for the documentary. Taylor’s massive sixth concert tour, which began in March 2023, now heads back to North America before it finally finishes in Canada in December.

The film is expected to drop next year, while Taylor should, hopefully, be enjoying a well-earned rest.
