Balloon Story exhibition goes out with a bang with Popping Party finale
NEW YORK, N.Y. (PIX11) -- You’re more than welcome to touch the art at Balloon Story during their Popping Party finale.
The limited engagement experience comes to end next Sunday and to help clear out the exhibition, visitors are invited to help pop all of the balloons. Tickets for the Popping Party at 3:30 p.m. are already available online.
Party goers will be equipped with goggles, earplugs and popping gear. The freshly destroyed latex will then be shipped back to Colombia where they’ll be repurposed and recycled into dog toys.
More than 600 balloons took over the Park Avenue Armory as part of the Balloon Story pop-up that launched in July. Organizers focused on making the event environmentally friendly by using natural rubber for the inflatable installations.
