Celebs Go Dating fans slam Stephen Lustig-Webb, 53, for dating 22-year-old after expert expressed their concern
CELEBS Go Dating fans have slammed Stephen Lustig-Webb for dating a 22-year-old on the show.
This week saw the return of Celebs Go Dating along with six new famous faces looking for love.
Gogglebox star Stephen, 53, is among the stars following his split from husband Daniel earlier this year.
After a masquerade mixer Stephen picked to date 22-year-old Ben – but fans rushed to social media to slam him for the decision.
One wrote: “I like Stephen from gogglebox but was a tad uncomfy watching him go for younger men.”
Another said: “Stephen needs to act his age.”
And a third added: “Nah Stephen that’s embarrassing.”
Even Celebs Go Dating expert Paul Brunson has revealed his concerns over Stephen’s “fixation” on younger men.
He told The Sun: “Stephen was the most concerning to me. He was fixated on matching with someone much younger than him.
“I’ve been doing this a long time and 10 out of 10 times when someone has a specific type who is 25 or 30 years younger… they either have very low self-esteem or they desire to be in a relationship they control.”
Paul added: “He asked three guys out on dates. He dresses super youthfully.
“To me it’s someone searching for the validation of others. Trying to find a younger person to recapture his youth and wanting the world to see him as young. Self-esteem wise it’s alarming.”
Stephen’s ex-husband Daniel previously opened up about their split.
He told The Sun: “We’ve been together 11 years this June, we’ve done so much together – a year after moving in together, we opened up our salon and Gogglebox years later.
“We had such an amazing time, but towards the end, we realised we were really good friends.”
