Hoda Kotb Explains Why She Stopped Seeing 'Extremely Handsome' Mystery Man After 3 Dates

Hoda Kotb is sharing an update on her love life.

While appearing on the Tuesday (August 20) episode of The Jamie Kern Lima Show, the 60-year-old Today anchor revealed why she “tabled” a relationship with an “extremely handsome” mystery man after they went on three dates earlier this year.

Keep reading to find out more…“This person, who’s a lovely human being, has a lot of things that are being worked out,” Hoda explained. “I think what I’m looking for [is] more kind of just simplicity.”

She went on to admit that she used to struggle with being the “fixer in life” and try to help everyone, but she’s trying to do less of that now.

“Sometimes you’re like, ‘You know what? Let’s just pause that instinct because that is my instinct. I’ll help. I’ll make it better. What do you need? How can we do it?’” Hoda said.

Hoda also noted that “nothing funky” happened when she “beautifully” ended her romance with her mystery man, whom she was set up with by her Today co-anchor Jenna Bush Hager.

“[We are] all good,” Hoda said. “He’s very cute, by the way, extremely handsome. I’ll show you a picture after, but tabled for now.”

When asked if she’s “met anyone new” since, Hoda responded, “Not yet,” adding that she’s constantly evaluating what she has “room for” in her life.

“I think I’m into the addition process — someone who’s adding and not subtracting,” Hoda explained. “Like, in this moment, I just want addition, because I feel like when I kind of map my days out and see what free time do I really have, it’s so limited that you want to make sure that when you have it that you’re spending it with someone who’s in the addition business of your life.”

Also in the interview, Hoda revealed the reason why she and ex Joel Schiffman called off their engagement.
