Watch as Good Morning Britain’s Adil Ray ‘storms off’ show after being forced to apologise for on-air blunder

GOOD Morning Britain’s Adil Ray stormed off-set while the show was broadcasting live on-air after co-host Kate Garraway’s cheeky remark.

The Citizen Khan frontman, 50, stared intently at the camera before grabbing his script and making his exit just over an hour into Wednesday’s episode.

Kate, 57, was left pleading “come back” before warning viewers Good Morning Britain might be presented “by one” as the programme rolled to a commercial break.

Adil‘s tongue-in-cheek conduct came after a series of on-air blunders.

Shortly before his impromptu exit, he had been caught tapping away on his phone as the camera panned in on the presenters.

The ITV anchor, who looked smart in a navy blue suit paired with crisp white shirt, was then forced to apologise for his blunder and told viewers: “Sorry, I got caught off-guard.”

He turned to Kate and said: “I was trying to show you an Obama {former US President Barack Obama] clip,” as she replied: “Thank you for briefing me.”

Kate then joked: “He’s about to jeopardise me!”

Shortly after, the pair turned their attention to river pollution after the news sewage spills had hit a five-year high.

Adil then said: “Where I stay in London for this, the river near me, that’s been affected,” as images of the pollution played out on-screen.

Mum of two Kate called him out for his turn of phrase and said: “The river near you in London – so the River Thames?” as he replied: “Yes, West London.”

Kate continued the banter as she said: “What that river near to you in London?” before bursting out laughing.

She added: “I don’t know what’s wrong with me this morning I’ve gone all giddy.”

Turning talk back to the pollution, she said: “I know it’s a worry,” but Adil had already begun to make tracks.

He didn’t reply and simply stared at the camera, before shuffling his papers and standing up.

Kate could be seen placing a hand on his arm to encourage him to stay as she said: “Don’t walk out, don’t walk out!

“You may be watching GMB which now has lessened by one.

“Come back!”

Yet his antics proved to be well and truly playful, with Adil sitting in his rightful presenting seat as she show returned after the break.

He has been a familiar face for GMB viewers, standing in on a host of occasions throughout the year.

Previously, he took to X to address his ITV daytime show schedule and wrote: “Thanks for watching @gmb.

“Off for Fridays over the Easter break.

“Back with you from April 12 peeps, and for quite a few Fridays until September.”

Attempting a joke, he added: “FriRays they’re all calling it.

“Well one person did. That’ll do.”
