8/21/2024: Cool, cloudy, occasionally showery

The latest Storm Tracker Forecast from meteorologist Matt Mackie:

One more fall-like day today - this time, we're more consistently cloudy as an area of low pressure sits just towards our north along the border with Canada.

Late morning and through the afternoon, expect scattered showers. A select few of us could see a few thunderstorms, with even a chance for small hail - but these will be few and far between. Light to moderate rain for most. Limited sun means limited warmth, and most will peak only in the mid 60's for highs.

Another cool night tonight, with showers coming to an end and some clearing, Lows will range from the mid 40's in the higher terrain to the low 50's in the Capital District.

Tomorrow is still below average - but it's a step in the right direction for those of you who like the summertime weather. Expect highs in the low 70's with more breaks of sun and only isolated afternoon showers.

Drier and brighter conditions for Friday and Saturday help us warm back to seasonable levels, with highs in the upper 70's and low 80's.

Low end rain chances for Saturday afternoon and into the day Sunday - but neither day is a washout. Brighter and more consistently dry by Tuesday.
