EastEnders legend lands huge role in new US TV series with A-list actress two years after quitting soap
AN EastEnders Legend has bagged himself a brand new role in a US TV series just two years after quitting the soap.
Zack Morris, 25, who played the role of Keegan Butcher Baker in the hit BBC show will now star alongside A-lister Priyanka Chopra Jonas, 42, as he continues to crack Hollywood.
The soap star has left behind Albert Square and will hit the small screen in a new series called The Bluff.
In a post uploaded to Instagram, the TV star updated his followers on the big news captioning the snap of the cast announcement: “Special Announcement The Bluff – Coming Soon…”
The young actor joins a star-studded cast led by Priyanka Chopra Jonas for a new swashbuckler drama set in the 18th century Caribbean.
Priyanka is the former Miss World and is a model, actress , and singer.
She is one of India’s highest-paid and most popular entertainers, accruing multiple accolades for her work.
The actress is also the wife of pop sensation Nick Jonas with whom she shares a daughter with.
Many fans to the comments to congratulate Zack on his new role, one said: “Amazing ! Well done “
“Forever Levelling up ! well done,” added another.
A third penned: ” Up & up Zack ! congrats!”
The actor who is known for portraying the role of Keegan in EastEnders joined the cast in 2017.
Characterised on the show as the arrogant and spiteful bully, Keegan’s character became more sympathetic throughout his time on the soap.
His character tackled some of the shows most serious issues such as knife crime, racism and mental health.
Eventually, the actor left after his five year stint portraying Keegan in 2022 and hasn’t looked back since.
Speaking to RTÉ.ie at the time, Zack revealed: “It was definitely not an overnight decision.
“I had the backing of my team – my UK agent and my US management. We had a lot of talks about when was the right time.
“Ultimately, EastEnders was the perfect training ground for myself.”
Since then Zack has gone on to gain prominent roles in other high profile shows.
In October 2022 he was cast in the Disney+ remake of the horror series Goosebumps, playing character of Isaiah Howard.
A year later he was cast in the thriller Jericho Ridge directed by Will Gilbey which in the end received middling reviews.
