That’s because I took a trip to the orchards of Fabulous Vegas to check out their fruit-themed games.
If you were to ask someone what came to mind when they thought of a slot game, I’d say that one of the most common answers would be fruit symbols.
They are such an iconic part of the slot game industry that it seemed rude not to have a Keep up with Katrina that paid homage to this staple.

Bonus Fruits
- Spent £4
- Didn’t Win
There’s a classic Vegas vibe to this fruity game helping.
Against a backdrop of flashing stage lights, the pay table makes use of iconic fruit symbols that even novice gamers will feel some nostalgia towards.
It’s a fairly simple slot game to navigate, with the bet adjuster clearly situated to the left-hand side of the screen.
WE’VE GOT CASINO DEALS FOR EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK
You’ll notice that changing your bet amount also impacts the potential jackpot amounts.
In this game, players can win one of four jackpots: Mini, Minor, Major or Grand.
They’re worth x30, x100, x500 or x1000 your bet amount.
There are some bonus rounds available, such as the Win & Spin (which is activated by spinning in six or more diamonds) and the Free Spins (which triggers when three or more bonus symbols are spun in).
However, I didn’t get the chance to explore these during my session.

It was a little disappointing that there’s no background music until you actually spin as I think that it’s a nice way to enhance the sensory experience of these games.
You do get a brief tinny tune while the actual spin occurs.
Overall, it’s a very classic fruit slot. It does what it says on the tin.
However, as fruit games are such a well-represented format, I wonder if there’s enough to make this one stand out in a crowded market.
Something Fruity
- Spent £3
- Won 40p
Something Fruity is played across nine paylines, with no chance to adjust the amount of active lines.
I SPENT £10 ON FABULOUS VEGAS – HERE’S WHAT HAPPENED NEXT
Personally, I prefer slots that allow the player to change the number of paylines as this can give a greater sense of control over the stake amount.
In terms of look, this game uses the classic fruit slot symbols: cherries, lemons and 7s.
It mixes these up with novel elements such as stars and harlequins.
There is also some dramatic background music to build a sense of tension before you finally take a spin.
It was exciting to trigger multiple rounds of free spins, which happened because I spun in three star symbols (three, four or five stars gives 5, 10 or 25 free spins) and these can be retriggered during the free spins bonus.

The tempo dramatically changes for these spins, with flashing lights, fast music and quick spins.
It felt like a good way to ramp up with gaming experience for the player.
Another novel element that I liked was that spinning in three icons of certain symbols (lemons, cherries, plums or oranges) actually gives free spins rather than cash prizes.
It doesn’t necessarily mean you win any more or less but it’s a good example of how a slot can make a small tweak to its format in order to stand out.

Red Hot Slingo
- Spent £3
- Won £3
Slingos are a matter of personal taste when it comes to the online gaming community.
Personally, I prefer them to traditional slots. I think that getting multiple spins for one stake feels more exciting and enjoyable.
If you’re a gamer who prefers slots but is willing to try a slingo, Red Hot Slingo is a good first step.
It leans more towards the slot format, rather than a bingo style.
WE HAVE TWO LIVE TRIVIA QUIZZES A WEEK WITH GOLDEN CHIPS PRIZES
That’s because you only get five spins (the norm is approximately 10) and each round spins in 15 symbols (rather than the traditional five).
The game also holds true to its fruit slot game origins with such symbols appearing in the play table, rather than being just being numbers (which is what you’d normally see with a slingo game).
For me, having only five spins was a little disappointing. I think it means that the game is over very quickly.
This isn’t helped by the fact that the slingo utilises autospin features so after an initial click, you don’t necessarily interact with the game again until it’s over.
WIN A SHARE OF £4,000,000 IN THIS PROMO
While that is the expected level of interaction for a slot, slingos usually encourage a greater degree of player involvement.
If just thinking about icons, colour scheme and music, the game doesn’t do much to stand out among other fruit games.
However, the fact that it is a slingo, and so the playing format is notably different to a traditional slot, means that it also doesn’t need to do much else in order to attract the attention of potential players.
