However, they were all replaced with Alex Scott and Clara Amfo who presented from the iconic green sofa.
During the show fans watched as Sir Brian May, appeared on air to speak about his BBC documentary, ‘Brian May: The Badgers, the Farmers and Me’.
Also in the studio was comedian Mo Gilligan talking about his latest podcast.
Meanwhile, Matt Allwright had a weekly Watchdog update.
The shake-up comes just weeks after The One Show returned to screens after being pulled off air.
Beeb bosses pulled the show as they cleared the schedules for coverage of the Olympics.
Alex Jones, 47, has been a host on The One Show for 14 years, but recently took a break.
Having been a mainstay on the famous green sofa for over a decade – Alex admitted even she cannot believe her luck.
Speaking to Fearne Cotton for her Happy Place podcast, she revealed her strategy for lasting so long on-screen.
“I can’t even believe I’m still there, I think I just keep quiet,” Alex shared.
“I just actually go in, do the job, and hope nobody notices that I’m still there.”
