LEE COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — On Tuesday, a woman charged with murder in connection with a March 2021 incident was acquitted, according to Travis County court documents.

Records showed Jennifer Redden Kramer was acquitted of the murder charge by reason of insanity. Documents showed Kramer pleaded not guilty to the charge.

As part of the judgment, Kramer would be committed for her mental condition and for treatment. The judge also ordered Kramer be evaluated within 30 days as to whether she poses a threat, and whether she will continue treatment. If she is determined to need continued treatment, Kramer could be committed to a mental health facility for up to 99 years, which is the maximum sentence for murder.

Kramer was originally charged in connection with the death of 32-year-old Christopher Michael Gonzales, which occurred March 27, 2021, off County Road 306 in Blue, an area between Lexington and Elgin.
