Comfortably mild weather for a little longer before heat makes a return

What We’re Tracking

  • Lots of sunshine all week
  • Gradual warming trend
  • Hot weekend

Clear to partly cloudy weather overnight will allow for most areas to dip into the lower 60s. However, late in the night some cloud cover starts to spread across the area. Thursday looks to start with clouds, but later in the day temperatures should top out in the middle 80s along with a fair amount of sunshine.

A quiet weather pattern falls into place as a ridge of high pressure settles over the Midwest. Temperatures do start to warm up by late week, eventually getting above average back into the upper 80s to near 90° on Friday then surging into the upper 90s over the weekend.

During that stretch of hotter weather, the wind looks to pick up from the south and southwest, which should eventually dry the air out a bit by the end of the weekend. However, areas with drier air will ultimately see higher temperatures because of it.
