Lake Charles man found on the side of the road, possible hit-and-run victim

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KLFY) -- A body was found on the side of the road in Lake Charles, according to authorities.

Larry Bushnell, 64, of Lake Charles, appeared to have been struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run, police said.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office said they arrived at the area of Goodman Road and Opelousas Street at 4 p.m. about a report that there may be a body there.

Police found car parts at the scene, and they believe the vehicle involved in the incident was a black 2016 - 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander with damage to the front and side.

Detectives have reason to believe the driver of the car was traveling to the Lake Caroline Subdivision when the hit-and-run occurred.

Police have not identified a suspect.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call CPSO Lt. Bryan Guth at 491-3846 or Crime Stoppers at 439-2222.
