Evapco SA (Pty) Ltd Historic Racing South Africa (HRSA) puts almost 40 cars on the grid and promises to display exciting door to door action with one of the largest fields on the grid.

In Class A we have Nicky Dicks in a car HRSA has not seen before , an extremely special car, his Curvent Racing Porsche 993 GT2R. Porsche purists believe the 993 generation Porsche 911 to be the highest point of the 911 history, it certainly is the pinnacle of the brands air cooled engine development. We are privileged to see a car of this calibre in person and on track, something we should all be excited to see.

Class B will have Andre van der Merwe  campaigning his Evapco SA (Pty) Ltd Porsche 911 RSR. It’s always a treat seeing cars like this competing on track at the sharp end of the field.

Class C will see current Overall Championship leader Andre ten Napel in his TNMC Medical Devices VW Scirocco look to extend his lead in the standings. He will not have it all his own way and will be kept very honest by the likes of George Avvakoumedes in his Liqui Moly / Euro Shop Equipment Porsche 911and Stuart Konig in his Northern Bolt & Tool VW Scirocco.

Class D will see the resumption of the epic tussles we have become accustom to between Gavin Lundin in his The Lube Guys Datsun 1200 GX and Jonathan Konig in his Northern Bolt & Tool VW Scirocco. Looking to get in on the action will be Travis Jensen in his Hamilton’s Racing Datsun 1200 GX, John McLachlan in his Hamiltons Racing Datsun 1200 GX and Johan Gouws in his Keller Williams Realty VW Scirocco. A great competitive field with promising signs of some good hard racing.

Class E, the largest class within HRSA by far has a total of 13 competitors in this class alone. Sean Hepburn in his AA Datsun 1200DL will look to dominate an  incredibly competitive Class E field with the likes of Nigel Townshend in his MK1 Ford Escort, Grant Cramer in his Jensen’s Towing Datsun 1200 GX, Michael Lundin in his The Lube Guys Datsun 1200 GX, Terence Ladner in his Hamilton’s Racing VW Scirocco, Franz Jensen in his Hamilton’s Racing Datsun 1200 GX and Peder Jensen Hamilton’s Racing Datsun 1200 GX looking to walk away with some solid Championship points to close the gap to Hepburn, the Class E Championship Leader. Getting in on the Class E action and looking to walk away with podium finishes will be George Evsselein in his VW Scirocco, Reg Sutton in his Rob Steel Ford Escort, Andre de Lange in his Roofsure Opel Kadette, Meredith Willis in his Ford Escort, Daniel Lotter SNR in his GlobeLotter Industries Ford Escort MK1 and Sophos Pantazis in his Datsun 240Z. This class is always extremely close and with a field of this size, one can expect a motor racing spectacle not to be missed.

Class F will be fiercely contested by Ian Odendaal in his AIM Precision Engineering MK1 Ford Escort, Cameron Foster in his Jensen Towing Datsun 1200 GX, Shane McLachlan in his Hamiltons Racing Datsun 1200 GX, Craig Harris in his Audiobility Datsun 1200 GX and Cor Kraamwinkel in his BMW 2002. The similar lap times coupled with the diversity of cars will make for some exciting racing as each of these vehicles has their strengths on different areas of the track leading to plenty of overtaking opportunities throughout the 10 lap heats.

Class G will see the likes of Mike Bishop in his Gasoline Denim Co. Renault Gordini look to dominate the ever growing and competitive Class G field. The rest of the Class G field will consist of Riaan de Ru in his Ford Prefect, Johann van der Walt in his Star Mining Supplies Mercedes 280E, Harm Beens JNR in his H3 Generator Works Ford Escort and Hennie van der Merwe in his Ford Escort.
