Oprah Winfrey uses J.D. Vance's 'childless cat lady' remark to rouse DNC

Oprah Winfrey stood at the podium at the Democratic National Convention on Wednesday night and roused supporters of Kamala Harris as she slammed the values she said Donald Trump espouses.

The famous talk show host, TV producer, actress and author, donning an all-purple suit, got the DNC crowd to its feet at multiple points during her speech and elicited chants of "U-S-A!"

She kicked off by asking, "Who says you can't go home again? After watching the Obamaas last night that was some epic fire!"

Winfrey said she was honored to speak on what matters most to her: Freedom.

"There are people who want you to see a nation of us against them. To scare you. To rule you. To have you believe that books are dangerous and assault rifles are safe," she said.

"Here's the thing: When we stand together, it's impossible to conquer us."

Winfrey said that while some would seek to divide, there are few real differences between Americans.

"When a house is on fire we don't ask about a homeowner's race or religion. We don't wonder who their partner is or how they voted. No. We just try to do the best we can to save them."

"And if the place happens to belong to a childless cat lady," she said, to laughs and applause, "Well, we try to get that cat out too."
