'Rush Hour 4' Reportedly Still In Development, With Lionsgate Eying Project

Nearly two decades after the last installment in the franchise, a new Rush Hour movie is reportedly still in development and hunting for a studio.

The franchise, which stars Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker, was a raging success after launching in the late ’90s. However, the most recent movie was released back in 2007.

According to reporting by The Hollywood Reporter, Lionsgate met to discuss picking up the fourth movie last month.

It is unclear if Brett would be involved in the project. However, a source said that he was being presented as a possible director. This would make for one of his first projects since the scandal broke.

When reached for comment by THR, Brett did not confirm if he was involved.

It is also not yet clear if Chris and Jackie would reprise their roles. However, back in 2022, Jackie hinted at plans for another movie.

The first three movies in the series were distributed by Warner Bros. Other studios have eyed continuing the project; however, Brett has been a “nonstarter” for some of them.

We will update you as we learn more.

If you missed it, Jackie addressed some concerns about his health earlier this year.
