‘America’s Got Talent’ episode 12 recap: Which acts topped America’s vote in ‘Quarterfinals 2 Results’?
“America’s Got Talent” season 19 is halfway through the second stage of the competition.” In this round, 44 acts are divided into four groups for four weeks of performances, all in the hopes of advancing to The Finals. Series judges Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel are on hand to hand out Golden Buzzers as well as compliments and complaints.
Quarterfinal 2, which aired live on NBC on August 20, featured encore performances by three Golden Buzzer acts — Schumacher, Legión and Sky Elements — plus AIRFOOTWORKS, Alex Sampson, Ashlee Montague, Bboy Samuka, Biko’s Manna, Brooke Bailey, NiNi and Young-Min.
Howie singled out acrobats AIRFOOTWORKS for his Golden Buzzer, which ensured them a spot in The Finals. Three of the other 10 acts will make the cut when America’s vote count is revealed on August 21. 8:08 p.m. – After a recap of last night’s performances and another view of the shady Golden Buzzer hit, Terry confirmed that Howie did get to the button before Simon which meant that AIRFOOTWORKS would compete in The Finals as his selection.
8:14 p.m. – For the results, Terry brought Ashlee Montague and NiNi to the stage to announce that the act that placed in the top five was the daring ballerina Ashlee Montague.
8:18 p.m. – Next he brought forward Alex Sampson and Schumacher to reveal that Canadian singer songwriter Alex Sampson remained in the competition as one of the top five acts of the week.
8:21 p.m. – Between Bboy Samuka and Brooke Bailey, it was Samuka that placed in the top five.
8:23 p.m. – With only two spots left, Terry brought Biko’s Manna and Young-Min to the stage to announce that Young-Min was in the top five and the sibling group was not.
8:30 p.m. – The last spot in the top five went to Sky Elements over Legión.
8:38 p.m. – For this week’s special performance, 2014 champion Mat Franco returned to the AGT stage with a magic routine that was inspired by the suggestions of fans. Over the course of his act he used the judges and audience members as assistants, culminating in the reveal that he correctly “predicted the future” of the randomized tricks that Terry would select using a spinning wheel.
8:50 p.m. – With the top five back on stage, Terry revealed that the first act to advance to the Semi-Final is Alex Sampson.
8:52 p.m. – The second act voted through to the Semi-Final is Young-Min.
8:58 p.m. – And the third and final act that would perform again in the next round is Sky Elements.
