Some shoppers are ecstatic by the comebacks, whilst others are getting terrible flashbacks to their youth.

And the latest trend that Primark has resurrected from the dead is the iconic Groovy Chick.

Groovy Chick is a character created by Bang On The Door, stylised as a “design-led tween queen.”

She made an appearance in almost every girls bedroom in the 90s and noughties, with tween girls across the UK longing to be like her.

The range includes a stylish lilac wash bag, perfect for trips away, that is priced at just £6.

A description on the Primark website reads: “Throw it back to your Groovy chick era with this chic and playful cotton canvas wash bag.”

Groovy Chick fans can also nab a tote bag with the iconic character emblazoned on the front.

It’s perfect for carrying your shopping in, and is priced at just £4.

The collection was showcased in a TikTok video posted by Primark West Cross, and shoppers have raced to the comments section to share their thoughts.

Some suggested that Groovy Chick should have remained in the 90s.

One person said: “Aw stop it man we can leave some stuff in the 90s.”

Another person said: “Some stuff should stay in the 90s.”

A third person said: “We really should let some stuff go!”

Why was Groovy Chick so iconic?

Bang On The Door’s lead character Groovy Chick was a staple in every little girls bedroom throughout the late 90s and early noughties.

Groovy Chick is categorised as a “tween queen’ and her vibrant, playful design, characterised by bold colors, funky patterns, and a distinctive, carefree style, resonated with the youth of that era.

The character’s aesthetic was a perfect blend of whimsical and cool, reflecting the fashion and cultural trends of the time.

Groovy Chick was confident and carefree, and was not defined by traditional gender roles.

And the character was on everything from clothing to stationary and bedroom decor, which helped to reinforce her presence as a cultural icon.

A fourth added: “I didn’t expect this to return.”

However, others were excited about the comback.

One person said: “My whole room was dedicated to her!”

Another person said: “I need this in pyjamas now!”

A third person said: “I would buy everything!”
