From importer to exporter, India’s defence exports jump 30-fold: Guess who's buying

India's defence exports have multiplied over 30 times in the last decade, fueled by global conflicts and strategic government initiatives. The country now exports to over 90 nations, with the US being the largest buyer. In the first quarter of 2024-2025, exports rose by 78%, contributing to the government's ambitious target of achieving a turnover of Rs 1.75 lakh crore in defence manufacturing by 2025. The rise in exports is supported by both public and private sector efforts, marking India as a significant global defence player.
