It’s the second time the retailer has had to restock the flattering frock, hailed as a summer must-have.

And now is the perfect time to snap it up, as shoppers and fashion experts alike have tipped it to be the perfect autumn and winter look with a chunky knit.

Indeed, khaki dresses are having a moment with over 3.1m videos posted about them on TikTok.

It’s a shade that goes with everything and can be worn for any occasion.

But on the off chance it’s not the colour for you, the Sainsbury’s frock also comes in black.

Available in sizes 6-24, Tu Clothing bosses say the £22 frock is “effortless style meets practicality”.

Victoria Stead, Head of Buying at Tu Clothing, added: “The Khaki Midaxi Poplin Dress is a must-have summer staple that delivers unbeatable value at £22 – it is in fact our bestselling dress this week making up for 1/3 of our sales for dresses alone!

“Customers have loved the timeless khaki neutral shade and the midaxi length creates a flattering silhouette.

“Consisting of a breathable poplin fabric it’s the ideal dress to keep you cool and chic all season long, even taking you into the winter months when layered up with a chunky knit.”

And shoppers have already been racing to get their hands on it before it sells out again.

One said: “Was on the waiting list for this dress for a while. Great fit and shape; no need for a slip and includes decent pockets.

“A bargain price for a gem of a dress – no wonder it keeps selling out!”

A second wrote: “Like a COS dress but for a fraction of the cost. Looks way more expensive. Lovely dress. Very classy.”

A third echoed: “Such a beautiful dress. Feels so expensive. Really flattering. Absolute steal!”

“Lots of compliments and have recommended to several people”, chimed in a fourth.

A fifth gushed: “What a great dress this is. Quality is great, fit perfect (I’m a size 14 ). Lovely for a sunny day and would look good with a jumper or jacket, so an all season dress. And, it has pockets!!”

Meanwhile, a sixth person insisted: “I would buy one in every color! Can be dressed up or down. Love it.”

It’s not the only Tu Clothing piece that’s been sending fashion fans wild in recent weeks.

The supermarket’s ‘Black Smudge Spot Crinkle Mesh Midaxi Dress‘ has been hailed as a “standout piece” that can be worn in summer AND autumn – and it’s only £20.

Their creative stylist Katrina told shoppers to pair the “gorgeous” column frock with some gold jewellery for the perfect summer night look.

Reasons to shop supermarket fashion

When looking for new pieces to add to your seasonal wardrobe, or update your basics, there's no need to spend hours walking around clothes shops, or scrolling online. Just pick up a dress or two alongside your fruit and veg...

It’s affordable – For basics  to more fashion-led pieces, supermarkets are leading the way for budget fashion that doesn’t look cheap.

They’re more on-trend that you think – With a customer database larger than the average high street store, shops like ASDA, Sainsbury’s and Tesco are able to cater to the markets and predict trends in a lot more areas than just food supply.

They fit well – Fits and lengths often come with a little more modesty in mind. Fabrics are often highly practical too—think plenty of 100% cotton that can be thrown into the washing machine without thought.

They’re convenient – Chances are you visit your supermarket more times than a shopping centre or high street.
