However, reporting of the Games will occupy time slots of popular Channel 4 programmes.

Launching on August 28, athletes will start competing the following day.

From August 29, coverage kicks off at 8am with Paralympics Paris Breakfast.

The rolling updates continue until 9.30pm, with intermittent breaks for Channel 4 News throughout.

It will then be followed by The Last Leg in Paris, featuring hosts Adam Hills, Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker live from the French capital.

Lastly, Paralympic Paris Highlights is set to air from 10.30pm to 11.35pm.

Meanwhile, Channel 4’s presenting team includes former Strictly winner Rose Ayling-Ellis, who is the first deaf live sports presenter on British TV.

Broadcaster Clare Balding is also featured, as are Ellie Simmons, Ade Adepitan, Vick Hope, Billy Monger, Ed Jackson and Josh Pugh.

Kirstie and Phil’s Love It or List It is among the shows that will be off air.

In this format, Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer go head-to-head while helping homeowners decide whether to love or sell their home.

Fans would usually tune in to see the popular property duo at 8pm on Wednesday evenings.

Similarly impacted is George Clarke‘s Old House, New Home, which launched in 2016.

The architect and host helps participants adapt their period homes for modern use.

Viewers would ordinarily get their fix of this show on Thursdays at 8pm.

Meanwhile, daytime staple A Place in The Sun will also be missing from screens.
