Howe Caverns hosting final 'Naked in a Cave' event
HOWES CAVE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- After six years, Howe Caverns is holding its last "Naked in a Cave" event. The event is set for Saturday, September 28 and is a celebration of body positivity.
"If this event has been on your bucket list, don’t miss out! It’s now or never! This will be your final opportunity to attend this amazing event," said Howe Caverns in a Facebook post. "Come see some old friends and make some new friends this year because next year, you will have to get naked somewhere else."
In a Facebook comment, Howe Caverns said that they did not want to put on the event any longer, even though it had been quite successful each year. Howe Caverns management did not immediately respond to NEWS10's request for comment.
"Naked in a Cave" allows attendees to stroll through the caves disrobed. The event includes a separate arts and craft event before the stroll at 3 p.m. and an optional dinner that can be added on. The dinner starts at 4:30 p.m. and a reservation is required. Guests can enter the cave at 6 p.m.
New this year, comedian Steve Van Zandt will be performing stand-up only for "Naked in a Cave" attendees at 8 p.m. The show requires a separate ticket. Van Zandt is best known for his comedic impressions and being featured twice on the ABC show "America’s Funniest People."
"Naked in a Cave" usually sells out and tickets are going fast. You can reserve your spot, and your robe, by calling Howe Caverns at (518) 296-8900.
