Western Heights transportation employee taken into custody after dispute

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - The Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office is investigating after an argument between two Western Heights transportation employees escalated.

According to OCSO, two employees were involved in a dispute at the Western Heights Bus Barn Thursday morning. Once the argument escalated, OCSO school resource officers responded and detained one of the employees.

Officials say the employee had a handgun and it appeared he was trying to leave when officers arrived. No students were present and officers do not believe any students were in danger.

"I am so proud of the relationship our school resource officers have with the school districts they serve," Sheriff Tommie Johnson III said, "Because they were already there, they were able to quickly quell the situation and no one was hurt."

That employee was taken into custody and has been suspended from his position as the investigation continues, according to the school district.
