Heating trend begins tomorrow as a hot airmass settles over the Midwest

What We’re Tracking

  • Slight chance for Friday morning shower
  • Gradual warming trend
  • Hot weekend

Temperatures for tonight will once again fall into the lower 60s with dry air in place and low humidity. Winds from the south east tonight. As we head into Friday morning, there is a slight chance of showers over central Kansas that could hold together long enough for our western counties to see a few showers Friday early morning.

A quiet weather pattern falls into place as a ridge of high pressure settles over the Midwest. Tomorrow is just the start to a slow 'heating' trend for this weekend. Humidity will also make a come back this weekend as dew points tomorrow reach into the upper 60s. Feeling seasonable for Friday, topping off in the upper 80's. Temperatures do start to heat up and eventually surging into the upper 90s for Saturday and Sunday.

During that stretch of hotter weather, the wind looks to pick up from the south and southwest, which should eventually dry the air out a bit by the end of the weekend. However, areas with drier air will ultimately see higher temperatures because of it.
