Study Reveals Ideal Penis Size Among Women

Much ado is made over penis size when it comes to male insecurities, but does size really matter? That's what the online doctor and pharmacy service ZipHealth set out to find with a new survey that explores how penis size impacts sexual satisfaction.

In coming up with the results, the company, which offers online treatment options for a range of health conditions including erectile dysfunction, surveyed 800 women, 100 gay men, and 100 straight men to better understand the importance of length and girth. Participants were also asked about tools and techniques that contribute most to their satisfaction, and how erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation affects their intimate relationships.

What they found was that the ideal penis size for women is 5.5 inches in length and 4.5 inches in girth. (For what's worth, the average size of an erect penis is 5.16 inches, with girth of 4.59 inches.) Nearly half of women surveyed said that they found length and girth to be equally important; while one in four prioritize girth, one in 10 prioritize length, and one in six say it doesn’t matter either way.

Meanwhile, the gay men surveyed said that their preference in length was six inches with a girth of five inches, similarly to the straight men who participated in the study.

And for any men who have ever experienced a problem in the bedroom, rest assured that you are not alone. Nearly 10 percent of women say that they have been with a partner who has experienced erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation, compared to 11 percent of gay men who have encountered the same issue.

Communication was also found to be important, partially when it comes to female enjoyment, as over 30 percent of women who say they never discuss their sexual preferences or satisfaction with their partner reported being "very dissatisfied" with the quality of their sex life. Somewhat interestingly, but perhaps not wholly surprising, only 13 percent of straight men can say the same.
