Tom Brady Shares Rare New Photos With His Son Jack & Reveals Which Sport the Teen Can ‘Beat’ Him In
Seven Super Bowl rings don’t mean a thing when you’re playing against your own DNA. (Especially when you’re playing a different sport.) Tom Brady just shared several rare photos of his eldest son Jack and shockingly revealed that the 17-year-old can “beat” him in this one sport — and, no, it’s not football.
“Happy 17th birthday to the kindest, sweetest, most thoughtful 17-year-old, I know,” the retired NFL player, who shares Jack with ex Bridget Moynahan, wrote on Instagram today. “You are truly a blessing in my life and I am so grateful to watch you mature into a young man. Your love of family, friends, school, athletics, hard work and dedication to everything you put your energy into are just some of your amazing qualities.”
“I love spending every minute with you and I cherish our time together,” he continued. Then, Brady admitted to defeat in a funny side note. “(Those are all my favorite things about you. My least favorite is that you can beat me in one on one now ????????)” he wrote. Classic! Apparently, Jack is better at basketball than his old man, and we love that for him.
Working extra hard to beat his dad at basketball is seemingly something Jack’s been practicing for quite a while. In June 2023, Brady joked with his son about his skills. “Growing up too fast Jackie,” he wrote on his Instagram story. “But … still looking for the first ???? win against me ????????????.”
Even though his son has finally bested him, it’s all love between Brady and Jack. “I love you always and forever, happy birthday, dad,” he signed off the birthday post. In the photos, Jack looks almost as tall as his dad, too. One is a selfie of father and son on the golf course, another shows the two standing side by side with matching postures and smiles. Brady also shared a video of Jack’s swing, and a photo of Jack with his younger siblings Benjamin, 14, and Vivian, 11, who he shares with ex Gisele Bündchen.
The comments were full of love. “Beautifully said, Tom! Happy 17th Birthday Jack!! Keep nurturing those amazing qualities, and have a great year!! ????????” one person wrote. Another said, “Happy birthday legend, stop growing!! ????????????????”
The Patriots Hall of Famer has opened up about how much he appreciates fatherhood. In a June 2023 interview with TODAY, he said, “Fatherhood is a great responsibility — being available and present is the most important thing. Something that I continue to work on is making sure I have enough time to connect. It’s always a work in progress.” He added, “I love my children more than life itself.”
