Watch The Chicks Sing the National Anthem at DNC 2024 (Video)

The Chicks kicked off the festivities on the final night of the 2024 Democratic National Convention with the National Anthem!

The group formerly known as the Dixie Chicks showed off their vocal harmonies while taking the stage on Thursday night (August 22) at the United Center in Chicago, Ill.

Natalie Maines, Martie Maguire, and Emily Strayer are no strangers to the political world. Back in 2003, the group faced massive backlash when Natalie said on stage at their London concert that they were ashamed that President George W. Bush was from their home state of Texas. The band took a hiatus amid the backlash, but returned with their song “Not Ready to Make Nice” and won a bunch of Grammys.

Back in 2020, the group gave a virtual performance of the National Anthem during the DNC.
