Govind Mohan takes charge as Union home secretary

Senior IAS officer Govind Mohan has taken charge as the new Union home secretary, following the retirement of Ajay Kumar Bhalla. Mohan, previously the Union culture secretary, is noted for initiatives such as 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' and 'Har Ghar Tiranga movement'. His experience spans across various capacities in both Sikkim and the central government.
